FGUP NPO Microgen was founded in May, 2003 through the bringing together of 14 state industrial companies situated in 13 different Federal areas and producing immunobiological preparations. The consortium was formed in order to establish a competitive enterprise involved in biotechnology and able to ensure the realization of national programmes of biological security and preservation of epidemiologic and sanitary welfare, as well as implementation of new highly-effective pharmaceutical products into Russian healthcare practice.
The history of the affiliates united in NPO Microgen dates back more than 100 years. They were formed on the basis of pasteur stations and laboratories that conducted scientific research in immunobiology.
Company affiliates house scientific-research laboratories, which conduct their own programmes of developing new immunobiological preparations and manufacturing techniques.
